Why not see what the University of the Third Age (U3A) has to offer?
Everyone who is no longer in full-time employment is welcome to join this growing and dynamic organisation which has a positive and creative approach to life for the retired or semi-retired.
Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Baptist Church on Melton Road, West Bridgford.
Annual membership is £18 per year. You are welcome to come as a visitor to one of these monthly meetings where interest groups advertise their events and activities, followed by a speaker.
West Bridgford's branch is part of the national network of U3As, which currently has 865 U3As and 295050 members in the UK.
Here in West Bridgford they have 540 members and 47 interest groups.
The U3A offers the opportunity for life-long learning, fellowship and enjoyment. Like all U3As West Bridgford is democratic, self-funded and self-managed, providing education and leisure activities at minimal cost. Members share their skills and experience in interest groups which are all led by members. The success of the organisation is based on its independence, mutual aid and self-help.
Qualifications are not required nor are they given. We share learning for its own sake and for pleasure. Anyone in the Third Age can join. To discover more come along to one of our monthly meetings. For more info visit the website below
